SeshTime tags

A SeshTime tag is an NFC sticker on a piece of gear or a jar. Tap it with your iPhone and SeshTime starts a session. The tag holds a link. It does not hold your journal, and this website does not keep a copy of what you wrote to it.

Set one up

  1. Get a blank NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 tag. Those are the compatible types.
  2. In SeshTime, open tag setup and choose to write a tag.
  3. Hold the top of the iPhone near the sticker until the app confirms the write.
  4. Later, tap the same sticker to start a session. The phone opens SeshTime through seshtime.io.

If the app is not installed, the link opens a short page on this site with an App Store button. The tag identifier is not printed on that page.

Tags written before seshtime.io

If you wrote tags before SeshTime moved to this domain, rewrite them in the app. Older tags keep the previous address until you do. Rewriting points them at seshtime.io.

The open spec

The on-tag format is SeshTag, seshtag/1.0. The public specification is not published at a final URL yet. Looking up a tag on this server currently returns unknown. That path is ready for a later resolver, and it does not store a database of use.

Specification URL placeholder: SESHTAG_SPEC_URL_PLACEHOLDER. Replace it when the spec is published.
